Job Description

Wash Cycle Laundry are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant Assistant to support our finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will assist in managing day-to-day accounting tasks, including invoice registration, journal entry preparation, purchase order processing, bank and credit card reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role is critical in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance within the accounting function.

 

Responsibilities: 

• Invoice Management: Register and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

• Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries for expenses, accruals, and other routine transactions.

• Purchase Orders: Assist in creating purchase orders and ensure proper documentation before sending them to suppliers.

• Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are properly recorded and discrepancies are resolved promptly.

• Credit Card Reconciliation: Reconcile corporate credit card transactions, verify supporting documentation, and ensure proper coding of expenses.

• Month-End Closing: Support the accounting team in closing the books, including reconciliations and adjustments.

• Documentation: Maintain organized records of invoices, purchase orders, and supporting financial documents.

• Vendor Communication: Coordinate with suppliers regarding purchase orders, invoices, and payment-related inquiries.

• Support Team Projects: Assist in audits, reporting, and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• 1+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping (internship experience acceptable).

• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and journal entries.

• Familiarity with accounting software and MS Excel.

• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar).

• Knowledge of accounts payable processes and month-end closing procedures.

• Problem-solving mindset with initiative to improve processes.

Work Scheduling:  

• First option: 9am - 5pm (Monday to Friday)
• Second option: Remote
