SUMMARY: Performs assigned duties that enhance the quality of resident’s life through various activities, exercises, and games. Physical limitations are to be considered when planning such activities.

Education and/or Experience: The ability to read, write, speak clearly and follow written and oral instructions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must successfully complete and be current in all training requirements for training under ALF regulations with AHCA.
Other skills and Abilities: Must be aware and understand the needs of the elderly. Must be able to recognize unusual behavior or physical condition of residents and report those observances to the resident care supervisor. Must be thoroughly familiar with all policies and procedures of the facility. Must be able to manage stress appropriately, handle multiple priorities, make decisions under pressure, and have strong organizational skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job position requires moderate physical demands. Duties may include frequent walking, stooping/kneeling/bending, lifting/carrying, and pushing/pulling during work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Including the following but may include other duties assigned by the supervisor.
· Planning daily and weekly activities for residents, keeping in mind any physical or emotional limitations.
· Requests for purchase of materials related to activities need to be made to the Assistant Administrator or Resident Care Supervisor.
· Maintain good hygiene and practice proper hand washing technique for infection control.
· Report any resident behavior/physical concerns immediately to the Assistant Administrator or Resident Care Supervisor.
· Complete Resident Observation Reports in a precise and timely manner, placing a copy of such in the proper tray.
· Take residents shopping when needed.
· Assist with meals by helping in whatever capacity the dietary staff needs, including but not limited to serving meals and bussing tables.
· When serving food to residents, be always aware of dietary restrictions.
· Help whenever help is needed when duties permit.
· Read the Communication Log daily when beginning work to familiarize oneself with the previous shift events.
