Job Description
Position Purpose: The Administrator, Training Management and Program Fidelity is responsible for managing the learning and professional development of the National Center for Children and Families’ (NCCF) employees in order to maintain a motivated and skilled workforce to fulfill the agency’s mission. The Administrator serves also as an internal consultant to the Executive Director and/or Executive Team regarding programmatic crises and refinement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Provides direct supervision of the Senior Administrative Assistant and monitors performance with all duties and responsibilities as outlined in the position description
- Design and develop a training and development program based on the systematic assessment of organization, program, individual, and community needs.
- Plan, develop, coordinate and provide training and professional development activities for NCCF employees based on organization need and contractual training and certification requirements.
- Collaborate with the Deputy Executive Director, Program Administration, to assess and analyze the needs for professional development for NCCF employees who work with clients served by the organization and to enhance program service delivery.
- Provides oversight and monitoring of the Relias system, ensuring all employee data regarding training is entered in a timely manner.
- Serve as an internal consultant by conducting program assessments and providing technical assistance and brief consultation for diverse staff, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and organize training manuals and other educational materials to distribute to NCCF employees.
- Develop trainings that will be eligible to obtain CEU approval on behalf of the agency from state and nationally recognized boards.
- Confer with NCCF management and conduct surveys to identify training needs, training impact, and trainee satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Administrator of Quality Improvement regarding establishing metrics and benchmarks for training goals and professional development of NCCF employees.
- Review, evaluate, and approve training for compliance with applicable local, state, and federal rules, guidelines, codes and laws as well as District of Columbia and Maryland contracts, as well as best practices and professional standards.
- Facilitate and develop agenda and themes for program related staff retreats to enhance program service delivery and team cohesion.
- Evaluate instructor performance and effectiveness of training programs, internal and external, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Keep up to date with best practices and developments in training in the fields of homelessness, child welfare, youth development, and juvenile justice fields, by reading relevant journals, conference attendance, and attending relevant courses.
- Continue to recruit and train NCCF staff to be able to become certified trainers in addition to delivery quality conference/workshop presentations, increasing the visibility of the agency.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Represents the NCCF in external policy and program arenas, as approved.
- Presents and publishes professionally on topics related to specialty service.
- Participates in and coordinates various public relations and community education activities.
- Advocates for vulnerable youth and their families in local, state, and national forums.
- Collaborates with national and local organizations, sharing expertise and leadership in the development and implementation of model policies and practices.
Minimum Position Requirements: - Bachelor’s Degree with five years experience in training and professional development. Considerable experience in family and child welfare system.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong presentation and public speaking abilities. Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of theories and principles of human growth and development; broad working knowledge relative to the needs of youth in out of home care, homelessness, poverty, youth development, juvenile justice, and child/family welfare.
- Ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and self directed.
- Demonstration of cross cultural competencies and social entrepreneurship.
Physical Demands/Work Environment: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle and feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Vision abilities include close vision with a computer monitor. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate. Salary: $105,000 - $120,000
