Role Purpose:

The Sr. Python/AI Developer is a delivery-focused technology specialist, acting as a trusted advisor to clients. The role is accountable for designing and developing scalable Python and AI-driven applications, with a focus on Generative AI, LLMs, and modern frameworks for AI agents. This position is responsible for building robust solutions, supporting client business needs, and ensuring best practices across development, testing, and deployment. The Sr. Python/AI Developer will work directly with customers, delivery teams, and stakeholders to create innovative AI enabled applications. The role also contributes to Insight’s intellectual property development and may participate in presales activities as a subject matter expert. 

Principle Accountabilities & Responsibilities: 

• Design and develop scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and maintainable Python applications. 
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code. 
• Work closely with clients and team members to capture end-user requirements and translate them into technical 
specifications. 
• Implement security and data protection solutions. 
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems. 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders. 
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly around Generative AI, LLMs, and AI agents. 
• Contribute to continual improvement by suggesting enhancements to architecture, frameworks, and tooling.

Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 
Essential 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 
• Proven work experience as a Python Developer with hands-on experience in Generative AI and LLMs. 
• Strong experience with Vector Databases and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). 
• Strong knowledge of Python and frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI). 
• Experience with Python linting and formatting libraries: Pylint, Flake8, Black, MyPy. 
• Experience with Python testing libraries: PyTest, Tox. 
• Experience with AI agent frameworks such as Autodev and Crew. 
• Proficient understanding of Git and Version control practices. 
• Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into a single system. 
• Familiarity with multi-process architecture and threading limitations of Python. 
• Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3). 
• Strong unit testing and debugging skills. 

Technical skills: 
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Pyspark, and or SQL 
• Generative AI: Expertise developing solutions using generative AI services like Azure Open AI, Gemini and Amazon 
Bedrock. Knowledge and experience using popular frameworks for developing AI agents such as Autodev and Crew 
• 1+ years of experience building Power BI models and visualizations with solid understanding of DAX and Power BI 
visualization techniques. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and make data-driven 
decisions. 
• Extensive experience working with large data sets with hands-on technology skills to design and build robust data 
architectures.

Desirable: 
• Agile development experience applying DevOps, testing, and governance principles. 
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior developers. 
• Ability to contribute to architecture improvements and adoption of new technologies. 
• Experience with cross-team collaboration and interpersonal relationship-building. 

Certifications: 
• Minimum 2 relevant MS Certifications 
• IT methodologies & frameworks such as TOGAF, ITIL and agile - desirable
