Description We are looking for an experienced Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in San Francisco, California. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in construction law and government contracts, who thrives in both litigation and advisory settings. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage complex legal matters and provide strategic counsel to clients in the construction industry. Responsibilities: - Provide legal representation and counsel to clients, including owners, contractors, and designers, in construction-related matters. - Draft, negotiate, and administer contracts for commercial and government construction projects. - Handle litigation and arbitration cases involving construction disputes, delays, design defects, and bid protests. - Address procurement-related issues, including risk management, claim documentation, and equitable adjustments. - Advise clients on dispute avoidance measures and manage claims for extra work or change orders. - Conduct legal research and prepare briefs using tools such as LexisNexis and other case management software. - Develop strategies for resolving construction and design defect claims efficiently. - Collaborate with clients to ensure compliance with contract terms and mitigate legal risks. - Represent clients in complex civil litigation and manage all aspects of case preparation. - Maintain accurate documentation and records to support legal proceedings and client needs. Requirements - Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. - Active membership in the California Bar. - A minimum of 2 years of experience in construction law, government contracts, or related legal fields. - Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and case management software. - Strong knowledge of civil litigation, claim administration, and contract documentation. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing and complaint handling. - Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively. - Familiarity with risk management and dispute resolution processes in construction projects.
