We are looking for a full-time Associate Teacher to join us on a one year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extending for an additional year. This role is designed as a mentorship opportunity to support early-career teachers who aim to transition into full-time classroom teaching in the future. The position offers an excellent opportunity to build essential skills and experiences, helping prepare educators for long-term success in their career. This position is ideal for a teacher in the first three years of their career.

As a newly certified teacher, you are eager to learn and engage in planning, implementing and assessing student learning, working in close collaboration with your colleagues. You have a deep curiosity about curriculum development and about approaches to teaching that reflect the needs and preferences of girls. You optimize the resources available to you. You are eager to support all learners with diverse strategies and approaches and you bring innovative solutions to learning challenges experienced by students. You use student-centred strategies in the classroom that promote student agency and result in deeper learning.  Students, members of your department, colleagues and parents describe you as approachable, knowledgeable, genuine and supportive. You are energized by what you do. You understand the importance of parents as partners in their daughter’s education and strive to maintain open and collaborative relationships with them. As a lifelong learner, you demonstrate a commitment to actively seeking and participating in our professional development programming. You participate actively in the life of the school, recognising the importance of the learning that happens in co-curricular programs. 

We are seeking Associate Teachers within the following departments: Art & Applied Design Skills & Technology, Science, Math, Social Studies, Career Education & Post-Secondary, Physical Health Education and Modern Languages. Candidates with one or more areas of interest and aptitude are preferred. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide TOC (Teacher on Call) coverage from Grade 8 - 12,  including specialist areas

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers by supporting them in areas such as curriculum planning, differentiated instruction, and assessment 

  • Support our advisory program as a co-advisor

  • Provide personalized instruction and learning support for individual students

  • Supervise students during non-instructional time 

  • Participate in co-curricular activities, such as Model United Nations (MUN), Basketball teacher sponsor, Volleyball teacher sponsor, Math Club and Debate & Public Speaking

  • Take a  leadership role in co-curricular activities (Athletics, Model United Nations, Debate & Public Speaking)

  • Perform student supervision duties

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or  Independent School Certification

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong time-management and organizational skills

  • Commitment to teaching the whole child

  • Collaborative, flexible, and enthusiastic

Employment and Application Details:

Classes begin in September 2025 following teacher orientation in late August 2025. 

Compensation: Annual salary $57,630 - $61,088
