Job Description

Class A Commercial Truck Driving -CDL- Program Coordinator - Grant Funded Job

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Instruct an appropriate, assigned Commercial Vehicle Driving education program.
• Prepare performance-based objectives and outlines for course of study.
• Use established training materials to present training exercises and practice in preparing students to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle.
• Prepare outline of instructional programs and studies and assembles materials to be presented.
• Complete requisitions, purchase orders, and budget transfers for supplies and equipment.
• Report any budget adjustments relevant to program activities recommendations to supervisor.
• Plan and design of informational strategies and promotional activities for recruitment campaigns, programs, and events.
• Provide hands-on training in advanced applications, training and testing preparations in Vehicle Inspection, Skills/Maneuvers, and Road driving skills required to meet and/or exceed requirements needed to successfully pass the Florida State Commercial Driver’s Test.
• Conduct Commercial Motor Vehicle Skill Tests in accordance with Florida State Statutes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Three years of verifiable experience operating a Class A commercial vehicle.
• Current and active Class A commercial license.
• Current D.O.T. medical card.
• Certified FLHSMV Third-Party Tester preferred, however if not must be able to become a Certified FLHSMV Third-Party Tester.
• FLHSMC Certified CDL commercial driving school instructor or able to become a FLHSMV Certified CDL commercial driving school instructor.
• Ability to take initiative, act independently, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize.
• Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
