Clinical Staff Pharmacist – Acute Care Hospital (13-Week Contract)

Overview
A well-established community hospital in northern California is seeking a Clinical Staff Pharmacist for a 13-week acute-care assignment. This role supports medication verification, sterile and non-sterile preparation, clinical reviews, and collaboration with the inpatient care team. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive clinical and operational pharmacy services within an acute-care hospital
  • Verify medication orders for accuracy, safety, and therapeutic appropriateness
  • Prepare, compound, and dispense medications in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Monitor pharmacotherapy plans and adjust based on labs, patient status, and clinical guidelines
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with medical, nursing, and ancillary teams
  • Perform medication reconciliation and support transitions-of-care workflows
  • Respond to medication-related inquiries from providers and clinical staff
  • Document clinical interventions and maintain accurate pharmacy records
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, formulary guidelines, and quality standards
  • Support antimicrobial stewardship and other clinical initiatives as assigned


Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted California Pharmacist License
  • PharmD or BS Pharmacy required
  • Recent acute-care or community hospital pharmacy experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of sterile compounding, EMR systems, and hospital medication-use processes
  • Strong communication, clinical judgment, and problem-solving abilities


Work Environment & Schedule
This is a 13-week full-time assignment based in northern California within a community acute-care hospital. Weekly pay range is $3,000–$3,300. Specific shift details will be discussed during the interview process.
