Community Engagement Manager Location Mobile, AL

```Duties```
- Create opportunities for public dialogue, engagement, and education.
- Responsible for assisting in coordinating and administering programs and events specifically designed to connect neighborhoods and citizens with city resources and government officials.
- Help build trust, connection, and commitment among residents and between the community, neighborhoods, and city government.
- Coordinate and implement new and existing programs to meet goals for community engagement, neighborhood vitality and improved quality of life for all citizens.
- Planning, development, and implementation of strategies and programs aimed at community involvement with City departments, programs, and initiatives.
- Work with City departments to create programs and events to educate citizens about local government operations.
- Work with community partners to create pathways to volunteerism and civic engagement.
- Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive resident inquiries and complaints.
- Periodically attend neighborhood and community group meetings to provide public education and answer questions pertaining to various city programs.
- Role is responsible for attracting new partners and increasing engagement with existing partners through regular communications, develop strategic partnerships within the community, and coordinating a series of special events on behalf City of Mobile.
- Serves as part of Community Affairs Team at designated community meetings, civic and/or neighborhood events, as assigned or required (Including nights and weekends).
- Closely partners, collaborates, and works with internal and external partners and/or contractors on the planning, developing, and operationalizing of the efforts designated as targeted outreach and community engagement.
- Deal effectively with community and neighborhood organizations. Establish and maintain constructive relationships with organizations, departmental staff, and community and neighborhood groups.
```Requirements```
- Proven experience in event planning, coordinating projects, organizing and implementing multi-faceted community programs, public relations, marketing, volunteerism, community engagement
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences
- Excellent organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or five years relevant experience
