Salary Range: $68,000 – $90,000 (up to $95,000 with ICC B2 + additional certifications and federal/facility inspection experience)

Overview :

INTECON, LLC is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector (Commercial) to oversee construction quality, safety, and compliance for facility and utility projects at Laughlin AFB and Wizard Auxiliary Airfield. The Inspector will ensure contractors meet design specifications, enforce safety and quality standards, and provide detailed reporting to support government oversight.

This is an ideal opportunity for a credentialed inspector or experienced construction superintendent who thrives in high-visibility environments, maintains strict attention to detail, and is committed to supporting mission-critical facility projects for the Department of Defense. 

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Ensure contractor compliance with design specifications for construction of buildings and utilities (e.g., administrative offices, aircraft maintenance facilities).
• Monitor scheduling, materials, and workmanship to ensure quality and compliance.
• Review contractor submittals, progress schedules, and cost breakdowns; provide recommendations on payment actions.
• Maintain daily inspection logs, safety reports, and prepare Construction Dailies and Weekly Activity Reports.
• Identify and document potential claims, coordinating with the Contracting Officer (KO) to resolve deficiencies.
• Enforce compliance with all base safety and security protocols.

Clearance Requirement:

• Eligible for Base Access/CAC and able to pass Tier-1 Background Investigation.

Qualifications:

• Current 2021 or 2024 ICC National Commercial Inspector – B2 certification, or a minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a commercial construction superintendent on public, private, and/or Federal projects.
• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain NACI/CAC eligibility.
• Strong background in construction quality control, inspection, and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to identify deficiencies, enforce standards, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions, rough terrain, confined spaces, and heights.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of inspection work, including lifting up to 50 lbs., standing/walking for extended periods, and use of PPE as required.
• Ability to work onsite at Laughlin AFB and Wizard Auxiliary Airfield.
• Preferred:
  • ICC certifications in Commercial Electrical Inspector (E2), Mechanical Inspector (M2), or Plumbing Inspector (P2).
  • Additional ICC trade inspection certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field (ABET-accredited program).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
