The Dental Receptionist role at Mountain Park Dentistry is integral to our daily operations. It is centered on providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth patient management from entry to exit. This position offers a non-remote work arrangement, requiring the chosen candidate to be physically present at our dental office to efficiently handle all responsibilities associated with the front desk.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and confirm their appointment details upon arrival.
  • Manage the reception area, ensuring it remains clean, organized, and welcoming to all patients and visitors.
  • Answer incoming calls, handle inquiries, and schedule appointments efficiently.
  • Verify and update patient information in the dental practice management software. Dentrix experience is a plus!
  • Process and file patient information concerning dental treatments, billing information, and insurance claims.
  • Collaborate with dental staff to maintain schedules and facilitate smooth patient flow within the clinic.
  • Prepare and handle all administrative paperwork related to dental procedures before and after the appointment.
  • Collect payments for dental services rendered and provide receipts as needed.
  • Coordinate with insurance companies to confirm coverage for treatments and handle claims processing.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required to stay updated on new policies, protocols, or technology introductions in the dental practice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in Office Management or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or Front Office Staff in a dental or medical facility.
  • Strong understanding of dental office procedures and use of dental management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact warmly with patients and staff alike.
  • Detail-oriented, friendly, outgoing, and reliable, with a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and billing practices.
  • Experience handling private patient information and a strong understanding of compliance with privacy laws.
