Job Description

Director of Paid Media 

We are looking for a strategic, results-driven Director of Paid Media to lead and execute the paid media strategy. This person will take ownership of campaign strategy and ad creative across multiple digital platforms, including Meta, Google, Amazon, and TikTok, while also identifying and testing new, emerging ad channels such as Applovin, YouTube, Snapchat, X, and brand awareness-focused mediums like CTV, streaming, and podcast ads.
The Director of Paid Media will oversee a team of three media buyers (1 media buyer and 2 junior media buyers) and be responsible for the development of high-impact ad campaigns that deliver both short-term and long-term marketing goals.

Position can be in office or fully remote

Comp is ~$160k - $180k (base + bonus)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Paid Media Strategy & Execution :
    • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive paid media strategy across multiple platforms including Meta, Google, Amazon, TikTok, and others.
    • Identify and experiment with new channels (e.g., Applovin, YouTube, Snapchat, X) to drive business growth and engagement.
    • Manage brand awareness campaigns across TV, CTV, podcast, and streaming platforms, aligning with business goals and measuring their impact on sales and brand presence.
    • Set clear goals and performance KPIs for each channel and optimize campaigns to meet targets.
  • Creative Development & Ad Optimization :
    • Lead the creation of high-performing ad creatives by building and maintaining a structured process for developing engaging and conversion-focused paid social ads.
    • Ensure a consistent creative direction across all platforms, balancing creative innovation with performance.
    • Leverage A/B testing, audience segmentation, and data-driven insights to continuously optimize campaigns and maximize ROI.
  • Team Leadership & Development :
    • Manage and mentor a growing team of 3 media buyers, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring team members are aligned with the company’s vision and goals.
    • Provide ongoing coaching and professional development opportunities to nurture team talent and enhance performance.
    • Encourage collaboration and sharing of best practices to ensure the team is always at the cutting edge of paid media trends.
  • Analytics, Reporting & Attribution :
    • Leverage multi-touch attribution tools (such as Triple Whale or Northbeam) to evaluate and report on campaign performance, tracking both short-term ROI and long-term brand-building metrics.
    • Develop actionable insights from data to continuously refine strategy and ensure media dollars are spent efficiently.
    • Provide detailed reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Innovation & Testing :
    • Stay on top of the latest trends in paid media, social advertising, and attribution technology to ensure the brand remains competitive.
    • Lead the testing and optimization of new ad channels and formats to expand the brand’s reach and drive engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Meta Ads Expertise : 5+ years of experience managing large-scale Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ad campaigns with a deep understanding of targeting, creative strategy, and optimization techniques.
  • Paid Social Ad Creation : 3+ years of experience creating compelling paid social ads, including managing the full creative process, from ideation to execution.
  • Google & Amazon Ads Proficiency : 3+ years of experience managing Google and Amazon Ads campaigns, including search, display, and shopping ads.
  • Attribution Tools Experience : Proficiency with multi-touch attribution tools (e.g., Triple Whale, Northbeam) to track and analyze cross-channel performance.
  • Brand Awareness Campaigns : Experience running and optimizing campaigns on TV, CTV, podcasts, or other brand-awareness platforms with the ability to measure impact on sales.
  • Team Leadership : At least 2 years of experience leading and mentoring a team of media buyers, with a proven ability to drive performance and foster a collaborative team environment.
