Job Description

RGP is seeking a seasoned Consultant with hands-on expertise in the Federal Universal Service Fund (USF) and related telecommunications tax structures. This is a high-impact, client-facing role that requires deep analytical capabilities, familiarity with legacy billing systems, and a strategic understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks. (REMOTE position) What You Will Work On + Lead complex tax calculation and billing projects related to federal and state-level surcharges. + Analyze and manage surcharge applications including rates, revenues, and exemptions across multiple systems and customer types. + Partner with cross-functional teams to improve rate accuracy and ensure synchronization between rate updates and billing charges. + Assess and streamline certification processes for reseller exemptions and customer status determinations. + Evaluate compliance timing and the adequacy of certification documentation for various customer categories. + Strong working knowledge of the Federal USF program and associated telecommunications surcharges. + Proven experience navigating legacy billing systems and resolving complex tax scenarios. + Familiarity with state-specific fees such as TRS surcharges, E911 charges, and Regulatory Cost Recovery fees. + Demonstrated ability to work with operational teams functioning in silos and drive alignment across finance, tax, and compliance groups. + Pay Range $47-62/hour (DOE).
