Summary

The DSV LAX air export gateway is an internal team, working to optimize and service performance on some of our largest trade lanes from the west coast. The team is integral in DSV’s success, where cost-saving routing is key.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Rate negotiations
• ULD planning
• Issuing consolidation paperwork
• Tracking & tracing
• Problem Solving
• Working with internal stake holders
• Costing consolidations
• Internal billing
• Support for DSV staff across various sites
• Serve as a support function between operational teams and warehouse.

Educational background / Work experience

• Minimum 2 years of air export gateway experience
• Experience planning ULDs
• Knowledge of various airlines and routes
• Knowledge of various flight types and their load capacity
• Knowledge of airfreight market, from a cost perspective

Preferred experience

• Air Export operations
• Warehouse operation
• Airline operation (in office)

Language skills

• English is the principal language for this position.  This position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.

Computer Literacy

• Basic proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and other technical software is preferred.
• Cargowise experience

Physical and/or Mental Requirements / Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand.  The employee is often required to walk and use hand and eye coordination.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

WORK HOURS AND ENVIRONMENT

Normal working hours for this position are Tuesday – Friday from 7:00AM to 4:00PM and Saturday from 7:00AM – 4:00PM   however, working beyond these hours will often be required by business needs.

DSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as “at will” employees. This means that an employee may be terminated for any reason, or no reason at all, at any time, provided the discharge does not violate any law*. Additionally, each employee has the right to terminate his/her employment at any time. *Except if employed in Montana, where termination requires just cause.

For this position, the expected base pay range is $22.50 - $30.50 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
