Title: Equipment Operator  

 
We are looking for an experienced heavy equipment operator including front-end loader, backhoe, excavator, skid loader, man lift, dump truck, and related equipment in support of construction projects.
Duties include preparing and manipulating heavy equipment to ensure the appropriate movement of materials, and working with co-workers to ensure that projects are completed accurately and safely.

 
Requirements / Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Read, understand, and work from drawings, specifications, standards, or written/verbal instructions with or without direct supervision. Inspect completed work for compliance with construction documents, and regulatory building and safety codes.2+ years of construction equipment experience.
  • Assist other shop trades personnel with project-related duties, including asphalt repair, concrete construction and repair, masonry, welding, and interior demolition in support of facility renovations.
  • Assist in shop operations. Clean, sharpen, and adjust tools. Maintain and properly secure shop, tools, equipment, and vehicles. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in shops and at job sites. Wear personal protective equipment as required for each task.
  • Ensure all equipment operations are accomplished safely and in compliance with department and university safety procedures. Establish a safety cordon and utilize a safety spotter when required to protect other workers in the work area.
  • Accomplish basic shop paperwork and electronic documents, including records for materials used, daily labor report, and weekly time report.
  • Move throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting to 50 pounds.
  • Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Salary TBD based on experience, leadership, and self-performance.

Schedule:

  • Mon – Friday 8-12hrs
  • Saturdays – as needed
  • Extended hours available
  • But occasionally up to seven (7) days per week
