Konare Law seeks an experienced and dedicated Immigration Family Law Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience handling SIJS cases, from the initial complaint for custody or guardianship to appearances in family and immigration court. This role requires a strong understanding of the SIJS process, exceptional legal skills, and a compassionate approach to working with young clients and their families.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Frederick, MD for an Immigration Family Law Attorney. The Immigration Family Law Attorney will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases, including client consultation, legal research, writing and submitting applications, representing clients in court, and maintaining accurate case documentation.
Qualifications
JD degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the bar in the state of Maryland (or ability to become admitted promptly)
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in immigration law, specifically with SIJS cases
Strong analytical and research skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred
Commitment to social justice and working with immigrant and refugee communities
Experience working with minors and vulnerable populations is a plus
