Overview General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking an HR Intern to join the Business Unit HR team. In this role, you will gain valuable hands-on experience.
This internship is in-person at our St. Petersburg, FL location during the dates of May 19th to August 8th, 2025.
Responsibilities - Provides support to professional employees working in an organizational function related to the Intern's area of study.
- Contributes to assigned projects and may assist with the development and maintenance of documentation or records.
- Learns organizational processes and procedures.
- Job shadows other more experienced professionals and or support staff.
- May also support the documentation & updates of procedures or work instructions.
- Handles basic issues and problems
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare HR-related reports as needed.
- Update our internal databases with new employee information, including contact details and employment forms.
- Assist in the recruiting process including screening resumes, scheduling interviews, obtaining feedback, and processing new hire paperwork.
Qualifications - Required education and experience: Must be currently enrolled in related HR courses or be within 6 months of graduation.
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Oral and written communication skills. Attentiveness. Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's or Master's Degree
- Discipline/Major: HR preferred
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
