Essential Functions

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of data processing systems and pipelines. They work with large amounts of data and are responsible for ensuring it is correctly stored, accessed, and efficiently used. A BI Developer improves company efficiency by automating data-related tasks. With a dedicated BI Developer, business intelligence analysists can focus on analyzing the data instead of worrying about extracting, transforming, and loading the data. BI Developers create custom tools, processes, and views of data to facilitate secure storage/retrieval and data-driven analytics.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for data acquisition.
  • Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability.
  • Build and maintain ETL and data pipelines.
  • Combine, process, and integrate raw information from different sources and systems.
  • Optimize data delivery and presentation of Power BI reports for other departments.
  • Develop tools and software that accomplish tasks necessary for data storage, analysis, automation, and management.
  • Perform data warehousing responsibilities: document and test processes, ensure proper monitoring and logging of workloads, ensure the security and optimization of workloads, and serve as a key contributor to development, design, and maintenance of the data warehouse.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Visual Studio/Microsoft SSIS/Power BI
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
  • Programming Languages: SQL/Python/Java/C#
  • Great organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow through.
  • Experience working with data in various formats including JSON, CSV, etc.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Ability to learn quickly, be flexible, adapt and strive to excel in a fast paced, changing environment.
