The YMCA of Greater Nashua is currently seeking caring, energetic, and responsible individuals to join our KidStop team. If you love working with children and creating joyful experiences, this could be the perfect fit! Must be at least 16 years old.

POSITION SUMMARY:

KidStop Babysitters provide quality care and supervision for children ages 1 to 10 in our drop-in babysitting space while parents and caregivers use the facility. You’ll engage kids in fun, safe, and creative play, build connections with families, and help create a welcoming environment for all.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for children.
• Build positive relationships with children and their families.
• Lead age-appropriate games, music, and movement activities.
• Assist with snack time and bottle feeding as needed.
• Keep the space clean and sanitized, including toys and surfaces.
• Observe children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.
• Follow YMCA policies and procedures to maintain high standards of care.
• Support YMCA mission and values in all interactions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum age: 16 years
• Previous experience with children (ages 6 months to 12 years) preferred
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to complete through YMCA)
• Completion of child abuse prevention training (within first week)

• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
• Team-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

 WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and move quickly to ensure child safety
• Frequent standing, bending, and active movement
• Occasional lifting/moving up to 10 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, and peripheral vision
