Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Laboratory Technician to join our team in Redmond, Washington. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing experiments following established standard operating procedures, maintaining lab equipment and supplies, and ensuring safety in our wet lab facilities. This role plays a critical part in supporting the smooth operation of our laboratory and contributing to the success of our research and development activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute established standard operating procedures (SOPs), including cleaning laboratory glassware, preparing and processing organic solutions, and handling electrical and mechanical components in our system.
  • Accurately document all laboratory experiments, including objectives, methods, results, and observations, ensuring traceability and reproducibility of experiments.
  • Organize and maintain laboratory parts, supplies, and equipment, conducting regular inventory checks and reordering supplies as necessary.
  • Prepare reports or summaries of experimental findings for internal review and collaboration, and communicate effectively regarding laboratory needs, issues, or changes.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., chemistry, biology, biochemistry, engineering) or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques involving organic chemicals and solvents (additional training will be provided).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage inventory effectively.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines for handling hazardous chemicals, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and operation of lab safety equipment like fume hoods.
  • Good documentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in organic chemistry, optics, and crystallization.
  • Experience in slicing and polishing brittle samples such as glass and ceramics.

Pay Range: $35 - $40

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
