Lodi Wine Lab has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic and motivated part-time lab technician to join our team. The successful candidate must be detail oriented, able to switch job priorities and perform tasks efficiently without compromising accuracy and precision. The candidate will also occasionally be required to aid our retail department and offer a high level of customer service both in-store and over the phone.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist with sample intake.

Prepare and process samples for instrument analysis.

Assist with routine chemical and physical analyses of juice, lees and wine using equipment such as a centrifuge and Winescan.

Prepare chemical solutions as necessary for lab instruments and for retail sale.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Follow ISO 17025 policies and procedures. Additional duties as required.

Job Requirements:

BS in Enology, Chemistry, or related field preferred (or in the process of obtaining degree).

Some experience in a lab setting preferred.

Familiarity and experience with winemaking and an appreciation for wine a plus.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and work well with other employees.

Computer literacy (spreadsheet, database, email and word processing programs).

Able to work independently and quickly while providing accurate analysis.

Working Conditions:

16+ hours per week, longer hours during harvest

Exposure to chemicals, lab environment

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and push, pull, lift, carry 55 pounds occasionally.

Compensation:

$19.00 - $24.00 DOE
