Job Summary: The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum stabilization. This role focuses on maternal fetal monitoring, safe care delivery, and collaboration with the obstetric care team in an inpatient setting.
Responsibilities
Provide intrapartum nursing care, including maternal and fetal assessment and monitoring.
Assist with labor management, deliveries, and obstetric emergencies.
Administer medications and interventions per obstetric protocols.
Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and support procedures requiring conscious sedation.
Document nursing care accurately and communicate clinical changes to the care team.
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia, pediatrics, and interdisciplinary staff.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of Maternal and Child nursing experience Required
IV insertion and phlebotomy experience Required (2 years)
Conscious sedation experience Required (2 years)
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required
Certifications
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Required
License
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License Required
