As our Full-Time Licensed Optician, you'll be a cornerstone of our clinical team, working closely with our optometrist and support staff to deliver top-tier optical services. You'll have the chance to utilize your expertise, build lasting patient relationships, and contribute to the growth and success of a new venture.

What You'll Be Doing (Your Impactful Role):

  • Optical Maestro: Utilizing your licensing and expertise to dispense, fit, and adjust a wide range of eyewear, including glasses, contact lenses, and specialized optical aids.
  • Patient Partner: Engaging with patients in a warm and professional manner, understanding their unique visual needs, and providing personalized recommendations and education.
  • Problem Solver: Troubleshooting eyewear issues, performing repairs, and ensuring patient satisfaction with their optical products.
  • Style Advisor: Guiding patients through our selection of frames and lenses, offering insights on style, fit, and functionality to help them make informed choices.
  • Clinical Collaborator: Working seamlessly with the optometrist and Optometry Assistant to ensure a smooth patient journey and comprehensive eye care experience.
  • Knowledge Sharer: Educating patients on lens options, coatings, contact lens care, and the importance of regular eye exams.
  • Inventory Guardian: Assisting with managing optical inventory, placing orders, and maintaining a well-organized dispensary.
  • Quality Champion: Upholding the highest standards of practice, ensuring accuracy in measurements and fittings, and contributing to the overall clinical excellence of Miller Optometry.

What We're Looking For (Your Essential Qualifications):

  • MUST be a provincially Licensed Optician in good standing.
  • A deep understanding of optical principles, lens technologies, and eyewear fitting techniques.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – you excel at connecting with patients and colleagues.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
  • The ability to work independently while also being a valuable team player.
  • Proficiency in relevant computer systems and a willingness to adapt to new technologies.
  • A passion for continuous learning and staying up-to-date in the optical field.
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
