Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig is seeking a motivated litigation associate to join our growing team in the Richmond, VA office. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for the right candidate with 5 to 10+ years of experience. This is a full-time, in-office position located in the Midlothian area of Richmond, Virginia with the potential to work from home for up to 25% of the work week. Required Qualifications: - 5 to 10+ years of litigation or related experience.
- The ideal candidate should have excellent legal writing skills and be comfortable taking and defending depositions, appearing in court, arguing motions, drafting pleadings, and managing deadlines.
- Juris doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be admitted to the Virginia State Bar.
Key Responsibilities: - Represent the interests of clients in litigation in state courts, federal courts, and administrative agencies.
- Supervise and conduct complex legal research and analysis.
- Capable of day-to-day case management.
- Collaborate in case strategy discussions.
- Draft and review pleadings, memos, briefs, interrogatories, and other legal correspondence and litigation documents.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Negotiate settlements.
- Communicate and work with local counsel.
Strongly Preferred Attributes: - Judicial clerkship, law review, and/or law journal experience preferred, but not required.
- Graduated with honors or graduated from a top-ranked law school preferred, but not required.
- Prior work experience at an AmLaw 200 firm.
