SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM Days off: Sat/Sun
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work from schematics and drawings; advanced math skills including knowledge of measurements and conversions; basic computer skills; basic knowledge of electrical principles and systems and a familiarity in the use of electrical testing equipment; ability to read, understand and work from complicated drawings, specifications and use various types of precision measuring instruments. Must have the skills and knowledge of preventative and applied maintenance techniques. Must have operational and maintenance knowledge of small format interchangeable core systems. Requires working knowledge of use, care, and safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in the trade. Must be capable of providing technical leadership to outside vendors and other University personnel. Requires ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions. Must be capable of working independently and prioritizing tasks to meet the needs of the unit and its customers. Requires interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and interact with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
REQUIRED MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Three (3) years as a journeyman locksmith or minimum of four (4) years with a locksmith certification or minimum of ten (10) years of relevant locksmith experience. Ability to work with various computer software systems; ability to work with computer signage equipment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires the ability to routinely move, lift, and/or carry, with or without assistance, equipment, parts, and job-related materials exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly. Requires the ability to accurately discern colors. The employee is required to climb stairs and use 12-ft ladders.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license in order to drive University of Delaware vehicles to and from job sites.
