Job Description

Position Overview:

• This P/T position typically works 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM, 4-6 days per week.
• Responsible for basic maintenance and upkeep of DRC facilities.
• Most duties are routine maintenance but may be assigned repairs and other responsibilities, as needed. 
• Weekday and weekend evenings for approximately 25 hours per week.

Essential Job Functions (listing most important first):

• Upkeep and daily maintenance of facilities assigned by supervisors.
• Perform repairs and special maintenance projects as assigned.
• Available for special events as assigned.
• Make recommendations for the improvement of the facilities to the Facilities Services Coordinator.
• Responsible for the implementation of a daily and annual preventative maintenance program for all equipment.

Qualifications:

• A mature responsible person with knowledge of proper maintenance techniques and the ability to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Must be of legal age and older and possess a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Special Requirements:

• Functions may be performed in an environment that may cause exposure to ultraviolet rays and heat.
• Should be able to see and hear, sit, stand, stoop, bend, walk about, and repetitively lift weights to 50 lbs.

Other Job Details:

• Starts at $14.00/hr. 
• Part-time DRC positions may be or may become, covered by the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS) based on anticipated scheduling. Covered employees have all the rights and responsibilities of KPERS employees, including payroll deductions for retirement benefits (6% of total pay).
• Employees in good standing with 2 years of service and KPERS eligibility are eligible for Vacation, Sick Leave, and Holiday pay at specified part-time rates.
