We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Outpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Sylmar, CA. The ideal candidate will assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulations.
Location: Sylmar, CA
Schedule: Day Shift
Compensation: $24.00 per hour
Experience Required: Minimum 6 months of hospital pharmacy experience (retail experience not applicable)
Key Responsibilities
• Assist pharmacists in processing and dispensing prescribed medications to outpatients.
• Accurately enter and verify prescription data in the hospital pharmacy system.
• Prepare, label, and package medications according to established protocols and safety standards.
• Maintain inventory and ensure adequate stock of medications and supplies.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, caregivers, and clinical staff.
• Comply with all federal, state, and hospital regulations regarding pharmacy operations.
• Support the pharmacy team with administrative and technical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Required: Active California Pharmacy Technician License in good standing.
• Experience: Minimum 6 months of hospital pharmacy experience (outpatient or inpatient). Retail pharmacy experience alone does not qualify.
• Strong understanding of medication names, dosages, and common pharmaceutical procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, patient-focused environment.
• Proficiency with computerized pharmacy systems and hospital EMRs preferred.
