POSITION SUMMARY:  Attends to the patient's direct care needs and performs tasks as delegated by the Registered Nurse. Works in collaboration with a RN, does not accept an independent assignment. Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives in collaboration with other health team members.  Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Assists the RN with implementation of an age appropriate plan of care through tasks routinely delegated by the RN and tasks delegated by the RN based on patient’s condition and the individual’s skills.
2. Provide sage patient transprot and prepping and positioning assistance.
3. Performs sanitation duties in accordance with unit policies and standards of care
4. Assists the RN to provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and employees.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• BLS certification or completed at hire and maintain certification throughout employment.

Physical and Sensory Requirements:

1. Ability to converse, read, and write in English
2. Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, vendors, and others.
3. Ability to remain calm under stress.Ability to respond to pages.
4. Bending, lifting (25 lbs. minimum), grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, pulling, squatting, and prolonged walking and standing.
5. Exposure to infectious organisms, agents and toxic chemicals.
6. Ability to make decisions within the limitations of the job.
