Seeking postdoctoral researchers interested in viral host-pathogen interactions within the human immune system: The Totonchy Lab is focused on studying how KSHV, an oncogenic human herpesvirus, invades the human immune system. Our goals are to understand how KSHV is transmitted from person to person, identify immunological factors that influence host-level susceptibility to infection and establish viral entry dynamics in B cells in order to rationally design a KSHV vaccine. We currently have a postdoctoral position funded through 2026. Dr. Totonchy was the recipient of a K99/R00 award, and is passionate about mentoring her trainees in order to promote their future success.
Required qualifications: PhD in related field and prior experience with multi-color flow cytometry analysis.
Suggested qualifications: bioinformatics, transcriptomics and molecular biology experience.
