JOB DESCRIPTION: Production Assistant

EMD Winemaking, LLC (LVVR Sparkling Cellars) produces sparkling wine made entirely in the Traditional Method, or Methode Champenoise. We are currently looking for a full time Winery Production Worker. This position rotates through various duties on the bottling line such as de-palletizing glass, unloading/ transferring bottles of fermented sparkling wine, and stacking cases, along with a variety of additional duties associated with the production of traditional method sparkling wine.

Responsibilities:
Follow standard operating procedures in the performance of all bottling activities to ensure maximum productivity and wine quality objectives are achieved.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including but not limited to timely and accurate reporting of all work-related injuries and illnesses to the supervisor, promoting safety awareness to co-workers, advising the supervisor of any unsafe acts and conditions and wearing required personal protective equipment.
Operating pumps and filters to transfer, rack, and filter wines as directed
Obtaining lab samples
Sanitizing all equipment and areas of cellar operations
Proper use and handling of winery additives and chemicals
Safely driving and operating forklifts
Moving equipment, materials, and supplies throughout the winery site by use of forklift
Responsible on any given day for operation of a particular part of bottling equipment which could include: uncasing station, machine operation, packing station, and bottling line set up and cleanup.
Operation of disgorging line, including neck freezing, disgorging, dosage, corking, hooding, capuling and labeling.
Online QC checks.
Manually loading cages.
Additional duties, as assigned by Management.

Skills/Qualifications/Experience
Winery production environment experience preferred, but not required.
Basic mechanical skills
Must possess diligent attention to detail.
Must possess basic math skills
Desire and ability to follow procedures

Physical Demands/Work Environment
This is a physical job in a winery/production setting that will require long periods of standing, walking, lifting, and the ability to observe others and the work environment
Must be able to repetitively lift items up to 50 pounds.
Accept direction and constructive criticism from others.
Communicate and work with employees at all levels.
