Job Description

The purpose of this position is to manage purchasing of raw materials, production supplies and other items needed in order to produce our customer orders in addition to maintaining an appropriate stocking program for all items that we regularly use for production.






The role and responsibilities listed below are not all inclusive or exclusive:

1 Place purchase orders for raw materials and production supplies
2 Maintain and manage inventory levels for all critical items
3 Minimize raw material inventory costs by managing levels appropriately while ensuring production is not affected by stock outs
4 Coordinate efforts with the scheduling department to build a short- and long-term forecast for material needs and fluctuations in demand
5 Build and maintain a vendor scorecard system to manage relationships with vendors
6 Build and maintain relationships with suppliers
7 Leverage data to improve our ordering process and efficiency
8 Negotiate favorable total value relationships with material suppliers.
9 Lead the shipping, warehousing, and receiving functions.
