Want to help me positively change people’s lives?
When New Jersey companies are struggling to find the right talent, Master Search Solutions can help.
When great people in New Jersey are looking for the next step in their career journey, Master Search Solutions can help. In fact, I’ve helped New Jersey job seekers progress in their career, earn more money, and improve their work life balance for nearly 30 years.
I launched Master Search Solutions 3 years ago and I need help!
Before I tell you WHO I’m looking for, I’d like to mention that I have been trained by some of the best executive search and recruitment professionals in the business. I’d also like to mention that I have successfully trained people who own their own recruitment firms, who lead very successful recruiting and staffing firms, and who are also corporate Talent Acquisitions leaders?
I guess what I’m trying to say is that YOU will get excellent training if YOU are the “RIGHT” person.
What does a recruiter do?
In this case, a recruiter will help our clients, who are predominately New Jersey businesses, identify and qualify a diverse pool of candidates for positions that are open (or projected) within their company. We also work on highly confidential searches when a high degree of discretion is needed.
How does a recruiter “do” what they do?
By learning exactly what types of candidates our clients are looking for
By assisting with job postings (internally and externally), social media, and handling the responses thereof
By screening applications/resumes and interviewing candidates (mostly over the phone, occasionally online and rarely in person)
By using our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other resources to search for candidates, maintain career related information, and “categorize" candidates for future reference
By writing killer “pitches” when presenting resumes (of qualified candidates) to our clients
By attending job fairs and other relevant networking opportunities when available
Eventually by preparing selected candidates for interviews, following up with candidates following their interview, possibly extending offers, and checking in with people we placed regarding their progress (once hired)
What skills does a good recruiter bring to the table?
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative and understand urgency.
Proficiency with Word and Outlook and the ability to learn our easy to navigate ATS.
What type of experience or education usually works well?
Recruiting and/or staffing industry experience is great – but we can train that.
Previous experience interviewing (in any capacity) is helpful - but we can train that.
A college degree is highly preferred. Most majors work well, but communication, education, liberal arts, psychology, and sociology, tend to do very well.
Recruiting is a “client facing” role requiring talking to candidates and getting to know where they have "been", where they "are", and where they want to "be" (professionally speaking). People who have worked in retail, customer service, communications, marketing, and PR tend to do very well. Athletes, bartenders and teachers can also transition nicely.
In general, a recruiter has the ability to differentiate between candidates who are not qualified for a role, who may a good fit for a role, or who are AMAZING (we are in the business of AMAZING of course)
How are recruiters paid?
Recruitment is primarily a commission driven business. You make money when you help our clients find the “RIGHT” candidate(s). We are happy to handle this role as an internship or on a 1099 basis.
Following training, and provided you are successful in the role, we would like to move this to a full-time (paid base salary) opportunity within 6-12 months. Our goal is to find the RIGHT person to help us continue to build our business, offer them thorough training, and to continue to connect New Jersey employers with "masterful" talent.
If YOU think this might be YOU lets talk!
