Job Summary

CalPortland is seeking a summer in the safety department. This internship provides hands-on experience in workplace safety and compliance. 

Compensation

$22.00-$26.00/hr DOE

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting safety inspections and observations.
• Support safety training sessions and orientations for employees.
• Help maintain safety documentation and records.
• Collaborate with team members on safety projects and initiatives.
• Learn and apply workplace safety regulations and best practices.
• Participate in accident investigations and safety audits as needed.

Education

Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Safety or a related field. 

Requirements/Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field.
• Interest in workplace safety and compliance.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.

• Preferred:

• Previous coursework or experience in safety or related fields.
• First aid training or certifications are a plus.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
