Job Summary
CalPortland is seeking a summer in the safety department. This internship provides hands-on experience in workplace safety and compliance.
Compensation
$22.00-$26.00/hr DOE
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting safety inspections and observations.
- Support safety training sessions and orientations for employees.
- Help maintain safety documentation and records.
- Collaborate with team members on safety projects and initiatives.
- Learn and apply workplace safety regulations and best practices.
- Participate in accident investigations and safety audits as needed.
Education
Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Safety or a related field.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field.
- Interest in workplace safety and compliance.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
Preferred:
- Previous coursework or experience in safety or related fields.
- First aid training or certifications are a plus.
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
