Job Description
**Our Mission**
At Palo Alto Networks® everything starts and ends with our mission:
Being the cybersecurity partner of choice, protecting our digital way of life.
Our vision is a world where each day is safer and more secure than the one before. We are a company built on the foundation of challenging and disrupting the way things are done, and we're looking for innovators who are as committed to shaping the future of cybersecurity as we are.
**Who We Are**
We take our mission of protecting the digital way of life seriously. We are relentless in protecting our customers and we believe that the unique ideas of every member of our team contributes to our collective success. Our values were crowdsourced by employees and are brought to life through each of us everyday - from disruptive innovation and collaboration, to execution. From showing up for each other with integrity to creating an environment where we all feel included.
As a member of our team, you will be shaping the future of cybersecurity. We work fast, value ongoing learning, and we respect each employee as a unique individual. Knowing we all have different needs, our development and personal wellbeing programs are designed to give you choice in how you are supported. This includes our FLEXBenefits wellbeing spending account with over 1,000 eligible items selected by employees, our mental and financial health resources, and our personalized learning opportunities - just to name a few!
**Your Career**
You'll help to ensure all of our outbound communications are current, correct, consistent, customer-friendly, and polished to perfection - or close - understanding when time simply won't allow for that last revision you'd make if you could. You respect the boundaries between content and copy editing, preserving the writer's wording except where ambiguity, repetition, or a lack of logical and/or parallel structure would result. No problem? Then, welcome home.
**Your Impact**
+ Copy edit primarily technical marketing collateral according to Chicago style.
+ Review AP-based creative content and various communications as needed.
+ Proofread PDFs, slides, and graphics for errors and inconsistencies in layout.
+ Fact-check, place trademark symbols, and ensure sources are properly cited.
+ Collaborate with the best team of copywriters, editors, and designers around.
**Your Experience**
+ 5 years of editing in the high-tech industry; preferably 2 years in cybersecurity
+ In-depth knowledge of Chicago style, plus some AP (will train on the latter)
+ Excellent command of grammar and mechanics; exceptional proofing skills
+ Good editorial judgment and comfort with reviewing executive copy
+ Adaptability and grace in a fast-paced production environment
**Preferred Experience**
+ Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Communications, or similar(Note: Other degrees considered with a relevant certificate and experience.)
+ Experience with Google G Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Asana
+ Exposure to AI-generated content and newfangled editing tools
**The Team**
Our marketing team has an opportunity like in no other industry: high impact work and the chance to change the future of digital security, globally. Your hands will be in industry-leading content created in the face of rapidly growing threats: cyberattacks. Being in marketing at Palo Alto Networks means that you will be in the midst of the changes impacting our industry, and helping our internal teams, customers, and partners address the ever-changing threats we all face on a day-to-day basis.
**Compensation Disclosure**
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $131,000 - $185,000/YR (Based on experience and work location). The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here ( .
**Our Commitment**
We're problem solvers that take risks and challenge cybersecurity's status quo. It's simple: we can't accomplish our mission without diverse teams innovating, together.
