In this assignment, you will be working with Coinbase through our Managed Service Provider—partnering with one of the most influential cryptocurrency companies in history, dedicated to empowering their customers’ success through innovative solutions.
The Transactions & Wallets team operates the foundational engine for all asset movement at Coinbase Institutional, processing billions of dollars in transactions.
We are seeking an expert Senior Software Engineer for a contract engagement focused on a critical objective: enhancing the reliability and stability of this mission-critical platform.
Your mission will be to drive key reliability improvements, systematically reducing on-call load and ensuring our systems are robust, observable, and stable.
Drive the technical execution for improving the observability and reliability of the T&W platform.
Lead deep dives into production issues to identify and resolve root causes.
Design and implement meaningful SLOs, robust monitoring, and actionable alerting to significantly reduce manual on-call interventions.
Architect and build foundational reliability improvements in our Go-based microservices architecture.
Collaborate with engineering teams across Institutional to ensure reliability standards are met.
5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in building and operating distributed systems in a production environment.
Proficiency in Go.
Deep expertise in observability principles and hands-on experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, SignalFx).
Proven experience with distributed messaging and queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, SQS, SNS).
A strong sense of accountability and the drive to deliver results in an ambiguous and complex environment.
Clear and concise communication skills.
Experience with MongoDB.
Prior experience in FinTech, crypto, or other high-security, high-availability environments.
