Job Description

As a jewelry store manager, your responsibilities are to oversee the daily operations of a jewelry shop. You supervise employees, work to improve retail performance, set sales goals, and assist customers. Your duties also include recruiting and training store associates, determining schedules for employees, and providing advice on gem and material selection. You may work with regional managers to coordinate marketing strategies, open and close the store each day, monitor inventory to prevent theft, and liaise with real estate owners and managers. Jewelry store managers usually work in one or two stores, but some positions involve traveling for long periods on a cruise ship, managing short-term stores for special events, or visiting gem suppliers to discuss the company's needs.
