Job Summary

Direct Care supports for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.  Support people living in their own apartments in the Brandon area, and one location in south Tampa.  Assist people with areas of daily living, cooking and maintaining their homes.

Responsibilities and Duties

• The overnight shift runs Monday at 3pm through Friday morning from 3pm in the afternoon to 8am the next morning.  Unless it is a holiday, the people are in a day program so you are off everyday from 8am to 3pm.  Staff are allowed to sleep during the night.  Pay will be subtracted for sleep hours.
• Weekends run from 3pm Fri to 8am Monday morning.  Sleep hours subtracted and 40 hours paid.
• The day-to-day activities of the position include giving guidance as to what the person needs to do when they get home; executing the chore list so individuals are clear as to their responsibilities; assist people as needed; supervise cooking and and administer or supervise medication as ordered. 
• This position reports directly to the Director of Supported Living and Personal Supports. This allows for communication between the supported living coaches and the personal supports, providing better supports to the individuals. 

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or GED
• A year's experience in healthcare or a related field.
• Required on-site training will be provided as needed.
• Ability to complete daily notes and work independent of supervision.
