Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Wholesale Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our team, with a focus on Excess and Surplus Property and Casualty insurance. As a Commercial Lines Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing the risks associated with commercial insurance policies, determining appropriate coverage and pricing, and ensuring compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal commercial insurance policies, including property and casualty coverage for a variety of businesses.
  • Analyze risk factors and conduct research to ensure underwriting guidelines and pricing models are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Work collaboratively with brokers and agents to develop and maintain strong relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage and prioritize workload to meet established service standards and deadlines.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, changes in regulations, and emerging risks to ensure policies comply with legal and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in Commercial E&S underwriting at Wholesale Insurance Agency, with a focus on property and casualty lines of business.
  • Firm understand of the Wholesale E&S marketplace.
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and pricing models, with a focus on property and casualty coverage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and underwriting software systems.
  • Prior Experience on AIM 360 preferred.
