Job Description

Our client in the healthcare space is looking for a  Medical Copywriter  to join their internal creative team!

This position is responsible for the development of compelling creative concepts and high-quality verbal content, within brand and on strategy, across a variety of print and digital media. The Copywriter must exhibit excellent writing skills and an ability to collaborate with the creative team to ensure quality, verbal and visual consistency and timeliness of material. This person must ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory restrictions. In addition, keeping informed of the business challenges and competitor strategies is critical for success.

This will be a fully remote, ongoing/indefinite contract with EST working hours. Candidates must have healthcare copywriting experience in order to be considered.

Compensation Range: $35 – 40 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Write creative, effective marketing and/or internal copy according to project request specifications/creative brief, while collaborating with design as appropriate.
  • Maintain single narrative voice, implementing consistency throughout content.
  • Research clients, their competitors and the target audience to support creative strategy and inform the execution.
  • Collaborate with design team as needed to meet specific project objectives.
  • Produce original, clear and credible copy and be accountable for the final development of creative assets.
  • Ensure accuracy and attention to detail, producing zero errors in work (all client edits are implemented correctly, spell check was run, facts were confirmed).
  • Ensure messaging brand guidelines and directives are embraced and adhered to in all executions.
  • Strive for the overall project to meet or exceed the writing objectives.
  • Adhere to regulatory and compliance regulations.
  • Respond to all requests and communications in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with project team members.
  • Provide writing support for aligned client group(s), as well as supporting projects from other clients as demand and scheduling requires.
  • Implement SEO enhancement in all web/digital content, when applicable.
  • Support peers by reviewing work to ensure zero errors in work per above.
  • Edit and proofread material as demand and scheduling requires.
  • Engage in professional development to continuously grow in profession and remain competitive with outside services.

Qualifications

  • Experience level: Experienced
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, journalism, communications or related field.
  • External or in-house agency experience required.
  • Minimum of three – five years of professional-level writing experience required.
  • Portfolio or Writing examples required.
  • Demonstrate proficient expertise in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Proficiency in AP and/or Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Healthcare industry experience required.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Workfront project management tool a plus.
  • Understanding of writing applications in traditional and emerging channels.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent voice and audience focus in writing.
  • Ability to streamline verbose content to the focus on the main message in a concise, effective manner.
  • Consistent quality control in work.
  • Understanding of specific channels or vertical markets as required by job function.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt style of copy to various audiences, purposes or media.
  • Competency presenting creative work to managers, peers, stakeholders, and clients.
