Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate claims processing, compliance with healthcare regulations, and timely reimbursement for services. This position is based in El Cajon, California, and offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities: - Prepare, review, and submit accurate claims for Medicare and other healthcare providers. - Ensure all claims adhere to Medicare guidelines, billing rules, coding standards, and organizational policies. - Conduct follow-ups on unpaid or denied claims, resolving issues promptly to minimize payment delays. - Verify the accuracy of billing and coding, including ICD-10 codes, to ensure proper reimbursement for services. - Address patient inquiries regarding billing concerns and assist providers with claim-related issues. - Reconcile payment remittances and accounts, ensuring accurate application of payments and adjustments. - Maintain detailed and organized documentation for claims, denials, appeals, and audits. - Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends, improve processes, and optimize revenue cycle performance. - Collaborate with team members and other departments to streamline billing operations Requirements - Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, with a strong background in processing Medicare claims. - Certification as a Certified Biller (CPB) or similar credential is preferred. - Proficiency in electronic medical record systems such as Cerner, Epic, or comparable platforms. - In-depth knowledge of Medicare policies, medical billing procedures, and coding standards. - Strong verbal and written communication skills for interactions with patients, payers, and providers. - Exceptional attention to detail to maintain accuracy and reduce claim rejections. - Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve billing discrepancies effectively. - Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume billing environment.
